Family members and supporters of Bastrop death row inmate Rodney Reed gathered at the Bastrop County Courthouse on Saturday, December 19 to celebrate his 53rd birthday.
“It’s bittersweet,” Reed’s brother, Rodrick, said in his speech at the rally. “It’s bitter, because the last 24 birthdays, he has been on death row for a crime that he did not commit. It’s sweet, because we have yet another day, another opportunity to fight, to get justice, not just for him, and for Stacey.”
