Parks department wins state awards for summer activities

At the Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS) State Conference in March, the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department was awarded the Arts & Humanities – Class IV Award for the free weekly activity books provided over last summer at the Elgin Recreation Center, and the Lone Star Programming – Class V Award for the cardboard boat race at Morris Memorial Pool held in the summer.
