The Elgin Parks & Recreation Department and Grounds & Maintenance Division participated in the Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS) Central Region Conference in Temple, Texas last week.Elizabeth Marzec, the manager of the Parks & Recreation Department, was selected as a speaker to give a presentation at the conference, and employees from Elgin’s Grounds & Maintenance team participated in the Maintenance Rodeo, where they tested their skills against maintenance crews from other cities.Most notably, the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department received the Conservation Award for the Pollinator Gardens at the Elgin Recreation Center.
