Monsters, heroes, more invade on Halloween

Elgin ended October with several marvels young and old coming through Elgin neighborhoods, and central Elgin was no exception.Many descended onto Elgin for the Annual Safe Trick or Treat event on Halloween, Oct. 31. Elgin Parks & Recreation hosted games and handed out candy in Veterans’ Memorial Park from 4 p.m. until dusk.Downtown businesses also had candy available. Businesses, organizations and clubs set up tables, tents or booths on Depot Street.
