The Elgin Chamber of Commerce welcomed two new businesses to Elgin in October with ribbon cutting events.

On October 16, Elgin Open Door Missions held a ribbon cutting and reception. The organization, located downtown at 108 Depot Street, offers a food pantry, clothes closet, baby supplies, meals, blankets, job postings, counseling, church services, Bible studies and more.

On October 31, Elgin Automotive held a ribbon cutting, along with a costume contest. The new auto repair shop is located at 143 Roy Davis Road, just east of Elgin.
