On Saturday, Faith Lutheran Church and Bastrop Veterinary Hospital hosted the annual vaccination clinic for McDade community pets at the church. A total of 245 animals were vaccinated against various diseases, and over half were vaccinated against rabies. According to Monica Buie, the vaccination clinic was started by her mother, Evelyn Wolf, in the 1980s with the local 4-H club and it was eventually taken up by Faith Lutheran Church. Wayne Skubiata said the funds from the clinic goes towards scholarships and summer camps through the church.
