The Elgin Evening Lions Club donated several boxes of children’s books to Communities In Schools last week. Communities In Schools partners with local school districts to bring outside resources into schools, and will begin operating at all Elgin ISD and Bastrop ISD elementary school campuses beginning in the upcoming school year. The Elgin Evening Lions Club donates free children’s books to teachers and schools year-round, and donated approximately $43,000 to local organizations during its last fiscal year.
