The 154th Annual Session of St. John Regular Baptist District Association was recently welcomed to the city by Elgin Mayor Ron Ramirez and Elgin Police Chief Chris Noble. Reverend D. W. Townsend, the pastor of Winn’s Memorial Baptist Church, hosted the event along with Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Reverend Steven Ward, pastor; Pleasant Bethany Baptist Church; and Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Reverend Byron Green, pastor. All campuses served auxiliary classes. Moderator G. V. Clark was present each day. The association is represented by 87 churches from central Texas.
