To celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 20 volunteers from Elgin High School Key Club and the National Honor Society worked on the Elgin Recreation Center gardens. They weeded around the trees in the Edible Arbor Walk, pulled invasive plants and replanted natives in the Stepping Stone Native Restoration Garden, weeded and replanted the sample vegetable garden and weeded the pollinator gardens. They learned about Texas native bees and other pollinators, worked to improve community areas and earned service hours.Learn more about the gardens in Elgin Memorial Park online at elgintx.com/1039/Park-of-all-Seasons. Photos courtesy of Elizabeth Marzec ...
