Participants enjoyed a beautiful almost-fall afternoon in Morris Memorial Park for the inaugural Field Day hosted by local artist and maker group She Creates Union. Activities included an egg-and-spoon race, a sack race and a book balance dash. The winner of each race received a locally-sourced prize; for example, the winner of the egg-and-spoon race won a dozen eggs from a local farm.She Creates Union also recently held their first community meetup on Monday evening, September 20 at The Clever Tiger, where attendees brainstormed ideas for creative and business-related workshops for the Elgin community.
