Ranchers, outlaws and saloon girls populated an old-fashioned version of downtown McDade for a few hours on Saturday, October 9, bringing the town back to 1883 for the reenactment of a deadly chapter in McDade’s history.Last Saturday’s festivities to celebrate McDade’s 150th anniversary started with a youth parade through downtown with the McDade High School band, McDade FFA and Loblolly 4-H Club, followed by the firing of cannons. Other activities included kids’ games, fortune-telling, live music and a square-dancing demonstration.
