Last Tuesday, Elgin Middle School hosted Generation Citizen Civics Night, during which students in middle and high school presented their community or school improvement ideas to fellow classmates, teachers and family members.
According to Generation Citizen’s website, their mission is to empower young people to become engaged and effective citizens. The students were impassioned about their ideas and their plans creative. Most had thought of compromises they could make if the decision-makers needed a slightly different approach before agreeing to implement their idea.
