Elgin ISD kicked off its school year with football players and school leaders running through the tunnel and across the field at Wildcat Stadium, 1,500 breakfast tacos made by the hardworking child nutrition staff, and an encouraging, thoughtful and engaging speech by a top educator during the annual back-to-school convocation. Last year, due to COVID-19, the convocation was held virtually; this year, the gathering took place outdoors at Wildcat Stadium to ensure safety.
