Elgin artists celebrate Pi Day by hosting pie social

On Sunday, March 14, local artist group She Creates Union was able to safely host their inaugural “South Pie So What” Pie Social in downtown Elgin. Last year, She Creates Union’s first plans for a pie social for Pi Day were canceled as COVID-19 first hit central Texas in mid-March. Pi Day is celebrated on March 14, a reference to the mathematical constant pi that equals about 3.14. The day is often observed by both celebrating mathematics and enjoying pies.
