Daughters of the Republic of Texas celebrates Texas Independence Day in McDade

On Tuesday, March 2, thirty people met at the Capt. Jesse Billingsley Memorial on the corner of Old Highway 20 and Waco Street in downtown McDade to celebrate Texas Independence Day. Hosted by the Baron de Bastrop Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the crowd included members of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Texas Ranger Association, Alamo Defenders, Old 300, and the Sons of San Jacinto.
