Community Gardens, located just west of Bastrop on Highway 71, is a unique and huge space that you must experience first-hand, and this weekend is the perfect time.
Community Gardens is hosting their second annual Home & Garden Show of Bastrop, which will be chock full of entertainment on their four acres. There will be food, drinks and fun, not to mention the dozens of vendors that offer just about any of your indoor and outdoor needs!
“This is our second Home & Garden Show and it’s going to be much bigger than last year. It’s a pet-friendly event with kids’ activities, a concert, restaurant and coffee shop all onsite,” said Aaron Pyka, one of the owners of Community Gardens.
“We have a dozen vendors year-around, but for this event we’re going to have about fifty home and garden vendors,” added Pyka. “It’s going to be a very fun and exciting weekend for the family.”
Community Gardens has partnered with local entrepreneurs and companies to provide quality products and services to the community year around. It’s much more than one can believe once they pull up in the parking lot. It’s an indoor/ outdoor marketplace with a full bar, live music, coffee shop and more. Add a plant nursery, boutique, sustainable living systems, such as aquaponics, hands-on classes and a chicken coop.
“What’s great about our show is that everyone can get to see inspiration in person, and talk to the professionals that did the work,” Pyka said. “So, not only do they get to meet the professionals, they can leave with plants, inspiration and resources!
“We also have a custom pool company, landscape and custom home professionals to help with all your indoor and outdoor home needs,” he added. “We want Community Gardens to be a unique and hands-on experience for the entire family.”
