Children enjoy magical time celebrating Harry Potter

On July 30th, a few volunteers decided to throw a party for Harry Potter’s birthday at the Elgin Public Library. Harry Potter, the titular character of the Harry Potter series, shares the same birthday—July 31—as series author J.K. Rowling. Children entered Platform 9¾, where they were put on the Sorting Hat to determine which house of the fictional Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff—they would belong to.
