The students of Austin Community College Elgin were invited to view the latest Democratic presidential debate on November 20. That evening, the room was packed with about 60 students all the engaged in the debate. The students had an opportunity to watch the presidential candidates’ debate about their issues and got a better understanding of the debate. Dr. Shannon Sinegal, a U.S. Government professor at the ACC Elgin Campus, wanted to teach the students the importance of the process in these debates.
