Although social gatherings are no more and city buildings, such as the library, have been closed to the public, social distancing isn’t stopping Melinda Torres from sharing the joy of learning and reading with her young audience. Torres, the children’s librarian for the Elgin Public Library, has read a variety of children’s books via Facebook Live on the library’s children page so far since mid-March.
