Last Tuesday, dozens of bus drivers and employees from Elgin ISD Child Nutrition Services began handing out breakfast and lunches to families for children 18 years and younger at Elgin Elementary School and 13 other locations throughout Elgin. According to Elizabeth Guajardo, director of child nutrition services, each day the turnout has increased by about 100; they delivered meals to 931 children on Tuesday, 1,142 on Wednesday, 1,399 on Thursday and 1,474 on Friday.
